Ottobock Maverick Vertical Shock
All Topics
The Maveric Vertical Shock is designed for very active individuals who need a robust prosthetic foot that stands up to even high-intensity activities and simultaneously offers a noticeable relief for their residual limb. The elastomer ring effectively absorbs torsion (+/- 10°) to relieve the residual limb and boost comfort in everyday life in combination with vertical shock absorption (up to 15 mm). By so doing, the prosthetic foot moves and turns along with the user’s daily routine, supporting the natural way the leg rotates in motion by decreasing shearing and strain on the residual limb due to torsion as well as reducing skin irritation. Made of fibreglass, it combines durability and flexibility with a high energy return – making it comfortable to wear. Activity: daily use. It is not waterproof, but it is resistant to splashed water and dirt. Thanks to the heel wedges, both the impact stress at heel strike and the gait dynamics can be customised to individual needs. The flexible design allows the Maverick Vertical Shock to adapt to varying surfaces and makes walking on uneven terrain and slopes easy and comfortable. The curved heel spring design boosts energy storage and return and the special shape of the big toe makes it possible to wear thong sandals.
