Donate prosthetic legs
Fill out the form below and someone will be in touch about how best to get your leg(s) to us.
Donations we accept
Post-1990 prosthetic legs are modular, meaning parts like feet, knees, and pylons are interchangeable. This versatility allows us to dismantle and service the components before re-use.
- Modular components only
- In working order, with no faults or breakages
- Broken down into parts where possible
- Liners and sleeves must be unused
Feet
Please include a pyramid or tube clamp adapter.
Knees
Include a pyramid, socket adapter or tube clamp adapter on both ends.
We can't accept microprocessor knees.
Socket adapters
If the adapter can't be removed, cut the socket down to 10–15cm from the distal end, if it's safe to do so.
Watch: how to remove moulded socket adapters
Pylons
All pylons welcome. Longer pylons are especially useful.
Tube clamp adapters
These come in many variations, and we gratefully accept them all.
Suspension and straps
All types of leather and suspension straps are gratefully received.
Liners and sleeves
All shapes and sizes welcome, but please only send unused items.
Small parts
It's hard to list everything, so here are some examples of the smaller parts we accept.
- Four-hole socket adapters (male/female)
- Rotation adapters
- Long stump adapters
- Knee actuators
- Screw-in adapters (male/female)
- Torsion adapters
- Double adapters
- Shift adapters
- SACH foot adapters
- Paediatric components (all items)
Tools
If it's useful in your prosthetics workshop, it'll most likely be useful to one of our partner clinics.
Sadly, we can't accept
- Non-modular or vintage legs
- Microprocessor knees
- Used liners or sleeves
- Sockets without adapters
- Shoes and cosmetic covers
- Orthotic items
- Other mobility aids

Legs change lives
It is estimated that 3.75 million people are living with a lower limb amputation in Africa, and most do not have access to a leg or care.

By repurposing high-quality prosthetic legs and providing them to our trusted clinic parters for free, we ensure amputees have affordable access to essential assistive technologies.
STAND champions the empowerment of individuals with limb loss in sub-Saharan Africa by making prosthetic leg rehabilitation accessible to all. We invite individuals with an unwanted prosthetic leg to join us.
