The Rehab Ledger
STAND’s outcomes platform for prosthetic rehabilitation across sub-Saharan Africa
From supply to patient
Every component is logged as it moves through the network. Partners and funders can trace any device from its source to the patient it was fitted to — with automatic alerts if a product recall is issued.
One system, two teams
The Ledger is the working platform for both clinical teams fitting prosthetics and wellbeing teams delivering counselling — not a reporting add-on, but the system they operate through every day.
Shared visibility across the chain
Reports flow to every partner who needs them — clinics, referral organisations, funders, and health ministries — so every actor in the value chain is working from the same picture, not disconnected data silos.
Outcomes, not just outputs
Standard reporting stops at ‘device fitted.’ The Ledger follows each patient for two years: whether the device is still being used, whether they’ve returned to work or education, and whether they stayed connected to support.
Verified results unlock capital
Each verified patient is a fundable unit of impact. The Ledger creates the evidence base for outcomes-based financing — allowing capital to flow toward professional training, additional services, and sustained rehabilitation based on what’s actually working.
This demo sets out the proposed question register underpinning the system, developed in partnership with the University of Southampton.

About this programme
This service is part of a programme that provides physical and emotional support to people affected by limb loss or limb difference. It is supported by STAND, an international not for profit. Your information is collected to support your care and to help measure the long-term impact of rehabilitation services in your region.
What information we collect
We collect your personal details, amputation history, and health information. If you take part in counselling sessions, notes from those sessions will also be kept. We may contact you at 6, 12, 18, and 24 months after your first appointment to ask about your progress.
How your information is shared
Your details may be shared with other service providers in your country who are part of the same programme, so that your record is accessible across clinics, outreach workers, and counsellors who support you. Your name and contact details will never be shared outside of these providers. Anonymised data may be used by STAND, health ministries, funders, and research partners to improve care. STAND is the data controller for all information collected through this programme.

If counselling sessions take place, notes will be kept separately and handled with additional care. You can consent to registration without taking part in counselling.
