What are the challenge rules?

  • A team of warriors: The Kilimanjaro Warrior Weekend is all about teamwork, camaraderie, and pushing yourselves to the limit. Gather your friends, family, colleagues, or teammates and join forces to take on a collective challenge over a single weekend. Whether you’re hiking, running, cycling, or doing any other limb-powered activity, you’ll be supporting Legs4Africa and making a real difference in the lives of those living with limb differences.
  • Conquer the mountain: Kilimanjaro is one of the most iconic mountains in the world, towering over the African savannah and inspiring awe and wonder in all who see it. As you take on the Kilimanjaro Warrior Weekend, imagine yourself scaling this mighty peak, overcoming obstacles and challenges along the way, and reaching new heights of achievement and personal growth.
  • Together or apart: The great thing about the Kilimanjaro Warrior Weekend is that you can complete your challenge as a team, either doing it together or on different legs, as long as it’s all done over the same weekend. This means you can customise your challenge to suit your team’s abilities, preferences, and schedule while still supporting a great cause and enjoying the thrill of the adventure.
  • Push yourselves to the limit: Whether you’re aiming to climb a certain number of stairs, run a certain distance, or complete a certain number of laps, the Kilimanjaro Warrior Weekend is all about pushing yourselves to the limit and discovering what you’re truly capable of. Along the way, you’ll bond with your team, learn new skills, and have a ton of fun, all while supporting a great cause and making a difference in the world. So gather your team, lace up your shoes, and get ready to become Kilimanjaro warriors!

Here are five ways participants can track their progress with the challenges

  1. Get yourself a funky fitness tracker! Whether you’re taking on the Sahara Desert Dash, the Nile Trailblazer Challenge, or the Kilimanjaro Warrior Weekend, a fitness tracker will help you keep tabs on your steps and distance covered. Just strap it on and get ready to strut your stuff!
  2. Use a smartphone app to get on the right track! Whether you’re running, walking, cycling, or pushing yourself to the limit in any other limb-powered way, there’s an app for that! Strava, MapMyRun, and Runkeeper are just a few of the great apps out there that can help you track your progress towards your challenge goal.
  3. Count your steps with a pedometer! Keep it old school with a trusty pedometer clipped to your clothing or worn on your wrist. This simple device can help you track your daily steps and distance, making it a great tool for any of the Legs4Africa challenges.
  4. Get yourself a GPS watch and go the distance! For those taking on the Nile Trailblazer Challenge or the Kilimanjaro Warrior Weekend, a GPS watch can be a real game-changer. With GPS technology, you can track your location and measure your distance covered, helping you stay on course and reach your goals.
  5. Use online tracking tools to stay on track! Whether you’re taking on a challenge on JustGiving or another fundraising platform, there are online tracking tools available to help you keep tabs on your progress and share it with others. These tools are a great way to stay motivated and connected with other participants as you journey towards your challenge goal.
