Lamin Bojang is a 5 year old boy who, like any other 5 year old, enjoys going to school and playing with his friends. However, in June this year Lamin was involved in a car accident which necessitated having his left leg amputated. Thanks to a donation of a leg from a child amputee in the UK which was shipped to The Gambia by Legs4Africa, Lamin was soon fitted with a new leg. This is not the end of his story though. Children outgrow their artificial legs very quickly and they need to be replaced approximately every six months. This is why the Little Legs Project is so important. We are constantly in need of replacement legs for little people so that they can continue with school and playing with their friends.

Hi, I’m Sue! I answer all your queries, coordinating generous leg donors from around the globe with our partners in Africa and giving people who need a prosthetic leg the details of our partners at rehabilitation centres in sub Saharan Africa that will help them. Apparently, I’ve got a keen eye for detail so I also try to catch any typos and spruce up our blogs. When I’m not wielding my admin wand, you’ll find me lost in a good book, doodling away, getting crafty with some sewing, soaking up some ballet or theatre, or just chatting and laughing with my friends. And yes, I’m often the one bringing the biscuits – because who doesn’t love a good biscuit?
